Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence - words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm

Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence

There shouldn't be a person on this planet who hasn't heard of this song. As their 24th single this song is now remarked as Depeche Mode's most well-known song worldwide. The song has been covered a great number of times by artists such as Breaking Benjamin, Keane, Tori Amos, Lacuna Coil, Entwine, Anberlin, HIM, and Susan Boyle. In 2004 there was a reinterpretation made of this song by Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, and an animated music video was later created for the new version. "Enjoy The Silence" won the title Best British Single at the 1991 BRIT Awards. The song is  certified gold in the US and Germany.

Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand
Oh my little girl

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
