Aqua - Barbie Girl
Yep, if there is one song that was strangely famous during the 90's it was this one. The Danish-Norwegian dance pop group Aqua made it to number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1997 with this one and it is indeed their most popular single to this date. When you deeply review this song it does not have anything significant that would make it chart that high, but of course it should have the support of all the girls out there who have ever played with a barbie doll at one point of their lives. Surely enough this song was bound to cause problems with the creators of the Barbie Doll and it did, however all of the appeals were rejected and it ended up being a successful move for Aqua. As a parody this song has been covered multiple times by all kinds of diferent artists throughout the years. I would say that this is indeed a catchy tune and the video is something you don't see everyday.
