Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun - a song with no meaning that spreads like a virus

Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun

It still amazes me how some people actually considered this song positive when it first came out. The melody of the song itself is quire depressing and as Chris Cornell has stated multiple times himself, although the single does not have any meaning in the lyrics there is a dark depressing feeling that lies mainly in the melody itself. The song also has a distinctive music video that might surely get you high even if you are not using drugs at the moment and it does indeed resemble the song  well since the video itself is not connected at all and it mostly is just a collaboration of different images that might actually affect your brain in ways you have never imagined. One thing that can be said for sure is that this is Soundgarden's most popular song until this day and if you hear it once there is no way you would forget it for the rest of your life. The song managed to climb up to number 1 on the US Mainstream rock chart in 1994, but sadly it only reached number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart. After all this talk I would suggest you to simply click the Play button and enjoy the song since it does indeed deserve it :).

Lyrics

In my eyes, indisposed
In disguise as no one knows
Hides the face, lies the snake
The sun in my disgrace
Boiling heat, summer stench
'Neath the black the sky looks dead
Call my name through the cream
And I'll hear you scream again

Chorus:

Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come
Won't you come

Stuttering, cold and damp
Steal the warm wind tired friend
Times are gone for honest men
And sometimes far too long for snakes
In my shoes, a walking sleep
And my youth I pray to keep
Heaven send Hell away
No one sings like you anymore

Chorus x 2

Hang my head, drown my fear
Till you all just disappear

Repeat chorus til end
